Verkís manages the preparation of a geothermal project in Ukraine

Verkís is managing a geothermal development project in Ukraine with support from the Icelandic Sustainable Development Goals Partnership Fund.

Verkís recently received a grant of about nine million ISK to prepare the utilization of green energy in western Ukraine. The main goals of the project are to identify and assess the available geothermal resources, and to evaluate the economic feasibility of geothermal direct use; for district heating, industrial use, or tourism.

Verkís will collaborate with Iceland GeoSurvey (ISOR) as well as with energy experts in Ukraine on the project. The project has support from Icelandic as well as Ukrainian energy authorities.
