Join Verkís at the International GEOENERGY Forum 2024!
We are excited to announce our participation in the International GEOENERGY Forum 2024, organized by Geothermal Ukraine, taking place online from September 26–27. This year’s forum focuses on the energy transition in the oil and gas sector, with a spotlight on innovative geoenergy solutions, decarbonization, carbon capture, and AI technologies.
Connection with Ukraine:
Verkís is managing a geothermal development project in Ukraine, supported by the Icelandic Sustainable Development Goals Partnership Fund. This project aims to assess geothermal resources in western Ukraine, evaluate economic feasibility, and explore applications for district heating, industrial use, or tourism, in collaboration with Iceland GeoSurvey and our local partners Geothermal Ukraine.
Lectures & Roundtable Discussions
On day 2 Verkís’ Innovation Manager, Kjartan Due Nielsen, will be joining a roundtable discussion with key speakers from IRENA, the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine, the Icelandic Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Geothermal Ukraine. Discussions will cover essential next steps in rebuilding Ukraine’s energy system through sustainable geothermal solutions.
