Verkís Named VR Exemplary Company 2026 for the Third Consecutive Year
Best Result to Date in the Company of the Year Survey
Verkís received the recognition of being a VR Exemplary Company 2026 when the results of the Company of the Year survey were announced at Harpa Concert Hall on Wednesday, 13 May. This marks the third consecutive year that Verkís has received the recognition and also represents the company’s strongest result to date in the survey.
This year, Verkís ranked 11th in the large company category, consisting of companies with 70 or more employees, receiving an overall score of 4.41 out of 5. Verkís was the only engineering consultancy to receive this recognition in the category.
The recognition is based entirely on employee feedback and reflects staff experiences regarding workplace culture, management, equality, working conditions, wellbeing, and team spirit.
Strong Team Spirit and a Positive Working Environment
The Company of the Year survey is conducted annually by VR, Iceland’s largest labour union in the private sector, in collaboration with Gallup, and is one of the largest workplace surveys in Iceland. Only companies that meet participation and response rate requirements are eligible for recognition as a VR Exemplary Company.
At Verkís, we are extremely proud of this achievement and grateful to our employees for contributing to a positive, ambitious, and dynamic working environment. The recognition is a clear acknowledgement of the strong team spirit that characterises the company and encourages us to continue developing our workplace even further.
Building a strong workplace is a shared responsibility across Verkís, and this achievement demonstrates what can be accomplished when people work together with integrity, ambition, and initiative.
