Verkís participated at the 2nd Budapest Geothermal Energy Summit
On September 19-20, Haukur Þór Haraldsson and Volodymyr Pryvizentsev represented Verkís at the 2nd Budapest Geothermal Energy Summit, bringing together experts, industry leaders, and officials from across Europe and beyond.
Volodymyr Pryvizentsev took part in a panel discussion alongside experts from Poland, Croatia, Italy, China, and the UK, where they shared best practices and success stories in geothermal utilization. During his talk, Volodymyr highlighted the current status and future opportunities for geothermal energy in Georgia. He emphasized that direct utilization of geothermal resources for households, tourism, spas, swimming pools, and recreational purposes offers higher profitability for investors, lower risks, and a reduced environmental impact compared to geothermal power generation.
With 45 speakers and representatives from 130 companies across 27 countries, the summit addressed the latest trends, challenges, and opportunities in the geothermal sector. These discussions signal exciting developments for the future of geothermal energy on the European continent.
