Project management is carried out in accordance with certified work processes that ensure professional work practices, as well as the traceability of communications and decisions. Performance evaluation is then based on a comparison of the project’s result with predefined goals for time, cost, safety, health, and environmental issues, etc.
All projects have a specific life cycle that leads them from idea to preliminary inspection, planning, and execution, to completion and evaluation of results. Good planning in the earlier stages of a project invariably results in a better outcome during the construction period.
In each phase of a project, emphasis is placed on different service elements. Although the service elements are largely determined by the nature of the project and where it is in the life cycle, however, certain elements are present in most projects. These include needs analysis, planning and goal setting, planning for time, costs and communication channels, analysis of risks and stakeholders and performance evaluation.
