An Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) is a document that provides transparent information on the environmental impact of a product throughout its entire life cycle, based on a life cycle assessment (LCA). These declarations are verified and certified by independent third parties.
EPDs are becoming increasingly important for manufacturers, as regulatory and certification schemes place growing demands on the availability of verified environmental data.
EPDs are prepared in accordance with international standards and regulations, ensuring that environmental impact data is comparable between similar products. As such, they play an important role in preventing greenwashing and promoting transparency.
